Frequently asked Questions

What Kind of Photo Works Best?

Original clear sharp photographs work the best. Copies made on a Printer or Kodak Picture Machine are not real photographs and should not be used.
Which Digital Photos Work Best?

High Resolution .JPG or .TIF files work best.

If you are scanning a photo only scan original photographs. Copies from printers or Kodak Picture Machines are not real photographs and cannot be scanned.

To Scan a Real Photo

1) Clean the scanner and remove any dust from the photo!
2) Set your scanners software to Adobe RGB(1998) and set the resolution to "Photo Quality"
3) Now is not the time to worry about file size - Save the file at the highest quality setting in either .jpg or .tif format.

For Best Results With a Digital Camera

1) Set the camera to Adobe RGB(1998) and the maximum resolution or highest quality setting.

*Special monitors are required to work with digital photos. Please do not crop photos or make any adjustments because that's what we do best. If you have a special request please make a note in the remarks section of the order form.

Gallery Wrapping a Canvas

Gallery Wrapping is best suited for Contemporary Pieces or Landscapes because the image will be wrapped around all 4 sides of the stretcher bars,

Since 1.5" of the image will wrap around each side, only choose photos where important features are not to near the edge or you risk having them folded over the stretchers.

Note: To look right, hang right and prevent warping special 1.5" thick stretcher bars must always be used. Avoid any so called "Wrap Around" or "Gallery Wrapped" canvases mounted on 3/4" stretcher bars because they will warp.

Can you work with Blurry Images?

Out of focus images are a real problem. If the image is not too blurry we suggest using the "Digital Brushstrokes Option". We have successfully used this option to greatly enhance many photos.

Can You Ship To Multiple Locations?

Yes, many of our customers take advantage of our 50% Off Special and ship to multiple locations. Include additional addresses with your order and we will send you a revised invoice.
How Long Will It Take?

Our average turn around is 4-5 business days from the day we receive your file or photo.
Will My Photograph Be Returned?

Memory on Canvas portraits are true Giclée art reproductions not canvas transfers so your original photo will always be returned to you with your order.
Can I See A Proof?

Just add a note in the remarks section of your order and we will be happy to email you a proof. Special monitors are required to work with digital photo's so we recommend you proof for composition rather then color.
How Do I Get A Copyright Release?

Most photographers value your business and are happy to provide a limited release. If you have any problems ask the photographer to contact us directly and we'll gladly assist you in purchasing a Memories On Canvas - Photo on Canvas portrait directly through the photographer without any extra cost to you.
